View Full Version : Getting closer to an answer...

April 2nd, 2004, 05:12 PM
We finally have received our genetic consultation date, May 27th today (April 2nd). I was told by the woman that called that we'll be meeting with a team of specialists, a metabolic specialist (the top one in the region where we live), a nurse from the metabolic clinic, a dietician and I can't remember who else. They told me that it's a 1 hour appt., they'll be reviewing his files beforehand and probably have us get more bloodwork most likely before the appt. She told me once we get there for the appt. they'll examine him physically and such...and probably request more testing if needed. We also have to go through EEG (sedated), vision testing, allergy testing, sleep study (need ped to get him referred for, due to possible sleep apnea) and Dylan's first dentist appt. (most likely need sedated, need ped to do referral). At least in some ways we are closer to answers but in some ways it scares me more.

I've seen some pics of other kids and there was one that the little guy looks a lot like my Dylan. And I just keep getting this feeling that there is something wrong deep in my heart...just like I did when we got the autism diagnosis.
